Why Bother?
A quote to quick things off...
No one can compete with you on being you
In this post, I want to take a step back and answer an important question: Why do I bother?
Why do I bother creating these blogs?...
After all, at the time of writing this, I have a community of around 2,400 on LinkedIn, 800 on Instagram, and no subscribers on YouTube.
So, who cares what I have to say?
Well you see, follower numbers are beside the point...
Because if there's one thing humans have in common, it's shared pain and struggle...
And in these posts (like my last one on the importance of Health ), I aim to share my raw thoughts, feelings, quotes, truths, and anecdotes...
And the pain and wasted time from mistakes I have experienced, as well as lessons I have learned firsthand over the last few years. I'm even sharing golden nuggets that I have spent hours listening to or reading, and to be honest, I really wish I had known some of these gems sooner.
Role Model
One big reason for this blog is that I am a role model to my past self.
Yes, I'm not ashamed to say it. Why? Because the truth is, there are thousands of young people who were in the same place I was 4, 3, 2, or maybe just 1 year ago. If you're between 16 and 24 years old, graduating from college or university, and you want to do more with your life and have no concrete idea of what you're doing or where you're heading (which is completely normal at 18 years old, lol)...
And you have that burning fire inside you that reminds you you're destined for more, then this blog is probably for you...
And let me be clear, I'm not giving advice here...
I'm simply voicing my perspective out of the 7.9 billion that exist... So take these with a pinch of salt and aim to gain just ONE thing out of the many nuggets I share...
Here's Why I Bother...
So yes, if I can help you minimize a mistake, or trigger a thought, habit, or action that can make you better off, then I will keep on writing these. I want this to be the blog posts I which my younger self had access to...
And the blog post my future family can read (and if it's interesting to them) and experience the rundown of my life as it happened...
Twitter-Like Quotes
You'll notice that I like opening these posts with punchy, "twitter"-like quotes that I take from Naval Ravikant's book 'The Almanak of Naval Ravikant'.
These quotes are thought-provoking and resonated with me, so I trust they'll do the same for you, some examples:
Most of life is a search for who and what needs you the most.
The Internet has massively broadened the possible space of careers. Most people haven't figured this out yet...
The most important skill for getting rich is to become a perpetual learner. You have to know how to learn anything you want.
Before you leave, read them once more and ponder on the question below...
Closing Question
Which one of those three quotes resonated with you or piqued your curiosity the most?
Pick one (or two if you really have to) and go and delve into it for a while. Don't forget about it or ignore it. It resonated with you for a reason. Challenge yourself to explore it deeper, almost getting lost in your curiosity around the quote.
As Rumi once said, "Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Cleverness is mere opinion, bewilderment is intuition."
What have you got to lose? Nothing.
I'll see you in the next blog.
(P.S. - If this blog was helpful, drop me a message on any platform like Instagram, or LinkedIn to let me know and give some feedback... and to get in my good books, share it with a friend who’d benefit...)
Stay kind and don't forget to tell a family member how much you appreciate them.
Danyal ;)
