Take More Care...🤒

Take More Care...🤒
Throwback- Pull ups in an outdoor gym somwhere in Paris

Some harsh truths to kick things off...

  • Doctors won't make you healthy
  • Nutritionists won't make you slim
  • Teachers won't make you smart
  • Mentors won't make you rich
  • PT's won't make you fit

You have to take responsibility and save yourself...

Looking Back...

I couldn't let October pass by without writing a blog post...

The above came from a chapter called 'Saving Yourself' in my current read - 'Almanak of Naval Ravikant'.

Why share this? With all the things going on in the world right now, I'm not going to sit here and complain,

That said, I have sneezed at least 200x the past day and have filled the bins with dozens of tissues...

Being unwell is humbling...

Suddenly. You go from having 1000 wishes, down to 1 - your Health...

Choosing to care for yourself (as a value) is something I believe we all ought to consider, yet neglect.

We make excuses like:

  • Too Stressed figuring things out
  • Career is my main priority
  • Don't know where to start
  • Too tired for x,y,z

and dare I say it...

nowadays I see more and more people wasting time scrolling on social media before "oops"... an hour has passed and it's too late to hit the gym or cook that healthy dinner...

That was me and still is me from time to time... (albeit I have successfully begun my new gym routine...💪)

(More on the new gym routine soon... hint - I'm doing Full Body Workouts)

The Moral?

Nothing like a health problem to turn up the contrast dial for the rest of life

I agree with Naval in saying that our number one priority in life, above our happiness, family, and work...

ought to be out own health...

Second & third, it's your mental & spiritual health. (For me, they go hand in hand)

Only after the above, we can think of our family's health, well-being, and then go out and do whatever we want in the outside world...

Let me know if you agree or disagree.

All I aim to promote is- take better care of yourself above everything, and the rest will take care of itself.

Looking Forward

This coming week:

  • Health front - 4X Full body workouts await. Starting on Tuesday as I'm recovering from a cold 🤧
  • Work front- I'm heading to the HQ of a Private Investment Bank with an AUM of almost 1 trillion USD on Tuesday... 💸
  • Hobbies - I hope to be creating and documenting more content. Start point is increasing LinkedIn activity, writing a blog/week minimum & getting on video as we move into 2024... 📽️

P.S. What's happening on the 'Work-front'?

Long story short, I work in Tech Sales and a large responsibility is booking meetings with data folks to help with their data & AI initiatives...

In the above, I booked a meeting with a programmer who's working on a cool modeling project and we discovered there's a huge benefit we can provide to him with our company's resources,

So I asked my colleague who's flying over if I could join the in-person meeting and here I am...

If you don't ask you don't get...

That's all for today's blog post,

If there's ONE thing you took away from this message... notice how I put my 'Health' bullet point first...

Take. Care. of. Yourself.

+

Be. Kind. To. Yourself.

No matter what's going on in your life right now- you can choose to step forward and take responsibility. Or step backward into self-pitty...

You already know which one to choose...
